Grungy Tilda

Hello Stampers!

I've been playing with my watercolouring lately - getting more familiar with my distress inks as it's been a while and I'm teaching a class next month.  I also had picked up the Tim Holtz 8x8 collage paper pad, so this is what came together!  I always feel like darkening my distress inking.  I like to add lots of grey and black around the edges.  So the Tim Holtz grungy look came to mind.

I am loving the fact that Spring is in the air.  My daffodils are out - I just LOVE seeing my Spring bulbs bloom!  So I was inspired to colour this little summertime Tilda.

A fairly simple card.  I didn't feel like a lot of embellishments as I used a very intricate die (which I LOVE by the way!).  So Tilda stands alone here.

Happy Stamping!

Art Journaling

Hello Stampers!

Happy Monday!  Here in Ontario, March Break has just ended (boo!) and for my family that meant a sunny vacation.  So after a week of wonderful holiday, I was very excited to get back to some crafty business with my girlfriends!  Yay!

At our new "art journaling" class, to be held monthly, Lori & Kim walked us through some super fun techniques!  I completed two layouts and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.  Plus it was a lot of fun to get inky!

If you're in the neighbourhood, look us up!

God Bless

Hello Stampers!

Happy Monday!  Last Monday I posted a card made with the same cute little Unity girl and the same beautiful Memory Box die and the same perfect Paper Smooches sentiments.  I loved the combination so I made another card with those supplies!  This time I used the new Bo Bunny Isabella 6x6 pad (beautiful purple and pink and grey tones) combined with some grey and black card stock.

I've coloured this little cutie with Copics on X-Press it and fussy cut her out.  A little tip - use a black marker to trace around the cut edges to give a polished look!

Supplies:
Ribbon:  Bo Bunny, black cardstock, grey cardstock

Unity heart

Hello Stampers!

I picked up some awesome new supplies at Scrappin' Great Deals last week - and have had so much fun playing with them this weekend!

I love Unity stamps in general - and the Magnuson's who own the company are sweethearts.  But this little cutie is my new fave!  I also grabbed this new Memory Box die - and I thought they went so well together.  Combined with the newest sentiments set from Paper Smooches - and we have a card!  I am also loving the Prima Engraver line.  Have you seen it yet with all it's coordinating elements?   Gorgeous!

Happy Stamping!

Peachy Magnolia

Hello Stampers!

Here is a little Tilda I coloured last week while working on Valentine's cards!  I've been working hard on my ribbon techniques - and feeling much more comfortable with my Bow-easy (what a wonderful little tool).  I've tried to keep the colours pretty soft here, and of course my latest fave thing - a little postage stamp on the corner of the image (this one is Tim Holtz) in Distress Ink (Antique Linen).  I actually took the time to emboss my Nestabilities die this time too - which I rarely do.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Magnolia Tilda with Big Ice Cream
Paper:  Kaiser Craft 6 1/2" paper pad Sweet Nothings
Markers:  Copic
Die:  Cheery Lynn
Ink:  Tim Holtz distress inks (Antique Linen & Tattered Rose)
Flowers, ribbon:  my stash
Adhesive:  3M Scotch ATG & Scotch Scrapbookers Glue
Additional:  Twinklets Diamond Dust (on roses) & Diamond Stickles (on heart)

Happy Monday!

Saturated Canary - Summer

Hi Stampers!

This is Summer by Saturated Canary, one of my current favourite line of stamps to colour.  The paper is "Ready Set Go" 6" x 6" paper pad by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts.  I love the bright pretty colours in this paper!  And orange has always been one of my faves.  The jewels are by Magnolia and the flowers are from my stash.  I used my Tim Holtz tool to twirl the ends and adhesive dots to adhere them to the card.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches (my absolute go-to sentiment stamps).

Windy is stamped on X-Press It paper, cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities label die, and inked with Antique Linen distress ink (my standard technique).

I've coloured her with Copics, and added little touches of white gel pen as well as Copic Atyou Spica pens.

Happy Stamping!

highlights from CHA - part 4

Hey there Crafty Gals!

Few more highlights from CHA!

First a little flair - cause I can't get enough.  And this is the super awesome Dyan Reaveley from Ranger!  LOVE!

Meeting Jessica from Greeting Farm stamps!  So funny cause I facebook and cityville with her hubby!  Tee hee!  LOVE her stamps - especially the new release stamp & colour stamps with lil' matching dies!  Cuteness!

Here is the Doodlebug booth.  Isn't it just adorable?  Yummy.

And here are some of their new release stamps sets with matching dies.  SUPER cute!

Happy Crafting!

highlights from CHA - part 5

OK - saved the best til the last.

Yep - fully admit it - huge, crazy, weak-kneed fan of Tim Holtz!  I just love his style - and how he makes everything look so easy.  You cannot be around this guy and not feel like crafting!

Had to get my photo-op in of course!  He is always super, super gracious, no matter how many of us crazies are wanting photos & autographs!  Just lovely.  Have to say - this man is the demo master - he could sell anything!

Watching the man at work (again).  Yep - might have spent a little (lot) of time at the Ranger booth!  Here Tim is demonstrating his new Distress Paints which were (no surprise) one of the Top 20 products at CHA.  Of COURSE they are super cool and amazing and of COURSE I need them all - like yesterday.

Just one more pose - cause you know - I can!  Shoulda' taken a pic of Tim's shoes.  The man wears cool shoes.  But - that might have been just a tad stalker-ish...

The new paints.  LOVE.  You can layer them, unlike the distress inks.  They have no texture or grit once on the paper.  You can make them translucent or opaque.  Super cool.

Happy Crafting!
