She had asked me to add more Stampin' Up! cards to my blog. Stampin' Up was my first love, and my first entry into stamping and cards over 8 years ago, but I've just added to my repertoire since then, and expanded into other brands of stamps, and in particular Copic markers.
Anyway - here is my latest creation, made almost entirely with Stampin' Up products (I do still go to a Stampers 10 by the way, with my beloved hostess-with-the-mostess, Annette - and LOVE it!). I have to say - I LOVE Stampin' Up cardstock - and Designer Series Paper - and dimensionals. I will do a separate post one day on adhesive options and why the SU dimensionals are my favourite. Incidentally, I actually worked in technical service and in marketing for adhesives for 5 years - as I'm a chemist by trade. So I do actually know a little about the topic! I actually used to teach seminars on the chemistry of adhesives.
Anyway, back to SU!, we made a project at Annette's with this owl punch and I fell in LOVE instantly! I had to had this! And then of course, I had to have the coordinating stamp set which was in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue! Not to mention my new favourite paper, the Elegant Soiree designer series paper, which uses my favourite combination of brown, ivory, blue, and grey.
This card includes a lot of die-cutting. I absolutely LOVE my Big Shot. I hesitated for a long time before investing in this, but now I couldn't make a card without it I don't think! Just today, I organized a workshop for my crafting friends at my house on how to use the Big Shot and the different options for it. Because I do think it can be a little intimidating and overwhelming for someone who is new to it. There are so MANY options, tools, brands, techniques...
I've used the following SU! products in this card:
Sale-a-Bration punch bunch, Basic Gray ink, Elegant Soiree DSP, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze cardstock, Bigz Top Note Die (I LOVE THIS!), Owl punch, Scallop punch, Jewels Basic Rhinestone. And non-SU! ribbon & Flourish Sizzlet die
Well - I'm off to Halifax for work for a few days!
Sarah
Adorable card.
