Kraftin' Kimmie Puddle Love

I was so happy to get home from Halifax last night!  It was a busy couple of days.  But I had a great time, traveling with my colleague Jill, and training a group of wonderful physiotherapists from across Atlantic Canada on compression therapy bandaging for lymphedema.  I am truly a Maritimer at heart, having spent four years at UNB Fredericton, so it always feels like coming home!  The people are SO wonderful, and I especially had a blast with the Newfoundland ladies.  They are so much fun!  We hosted a dinner for them one night, and people just didn't want to leave - they were having such a great time.

But - it's always nice to come home.  And my wonderful husband surprised me with the most delicious homecooked dinner of BBQ chicken, Spanish rice, and garlic fried shrimp!  YUM!  He'd even poured me a glass of wine for when I got in the door!  Am I a lucky girl or what?

And, once my Samuel was tucked into bed, I was able to get back to my craft room!  YAY!

So I combined the following fun challenges, which coordinated SO well:
The ABC Challenge:  P is for Pink (I was SO excited to finish in the Top 5 last week with O is for Ovals!!)
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps:  Challenge #68:  Twine or Floss
Copic Creations:   Challenge #45 - Complementary Colors
Cute Card Thursday:  Challenge #154 - Signs of Spring

First, I stamped the super cute Kraftin Kimmie stamp "Puddles of Love" in Memento, Tuxedo Black, on Copic XPress Blending Paper.  Then I coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out using Nesties, and used SU! Rose Red to cut with Nesties a background, which I embossed with an embossing folder.  I used My Mind's Eye Gertie 6x6 paper pack, and then cut with my Nesties a label in SU!  Certainly Celery.  I've used foam squares to mount my image, and the message (I like to use French messages, I think it is cute).  I've used three strands of twine around the pink paper, and added some Prima flowers.  I then applied some self stick pearls in a kind of pattern running away from the flowers - it made me think of water, and kind of goes with the water in the main image.  When dry, I used crystal effects on the water to make it "pop".  I inked around the saying label with some brown chalk ink.

Copics:  Dress:  R89, R85, R83, RV02.  Coat, Hat, & Boots:  YG67, G24, G21, YG06.  Buttons & Boot Soles:  E79, E77, E74.  Water:  B95, B93, BG01.  Hair:  E35, E31, YR20.  Skin:  E11, E00, R20.  Outline:  BG000.

Have a great end to your weekend everyone!

Sarah
